HOPE - Higher Education for Openness, Peace & Empathy

Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education Project

Empowering Peace through Education

Project Duration: Nov 2025 - Nov 2028 | 11 Partner Institutions | €800K EU Funding

Our Mission

Strengthening the role of higher education in peace education and constructive conflict resolution

HOPE aims to support higher education institutions in creating meaningful opportunities for peace education, intercultural dialogue, and constructive conflict resolution. Through shared learning, curriculum development, and cooperation, HOPE will help students and educators build the knowledge and skills needed to engage with difference responsibly.

About the Project

HOPE is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project bringing together institutions from Greece, Germany, and Israel. The consortium will develop educational programmes, teaching approaches, research cooperation, and dialogue activities that support peace education curriculum.

Project Overview

About HOPE

Higher education institutions can contribute to peace through teaching, research, institutional practice, and engagement with society. HOPE will support participating institutions in developing a shared culture of constructive conflict resolution. Its work will address the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values needed for dialogue, coexistence, reconciliation, and peaceful responses to conflict.

The project focuses on the multicultural context of Israel and involves institutions serving Arab, Jewish secular, and Jewish religious communities. European and Israeli partners will work together to develop educational resources and approaches that can also inform peace education in other settings.
